If you want to protect your (new and shiny) Apple MacBook Air released in 2020, then read on...

Pros:

1) Packaging: This is typically not a "pro" but I want to emphasize the packaging of this product, as it is very important that these hardshell skins stay free of dust, cracks, and smudges in shipping. FinTie has done a phenomenal job with packaging here. The two-piece hardshell cover comes vacuum sealed as well as a clear plastic wrap on each.

2) The build and durability: As soon as I took off the wrappers, I was 100% convinced that the two-piece hardshell case is going to last forever despite the light weight. The polycarbonate plastic does not feel cheap or flimsy at all, and just speaks quality all around

3) Fit and protection: This is the most important aspect about this product as this is why you are buying it. Rest assured, both top and bottom covers snap into place easily and come with fins to help dissipate the heat this MacBook Air builds up with heavy usage. The MacBook will open all the way (the last 20 degrees will feel ever so slightly harder but that's fine - if your covers are perfectly snapped into place, this will not cause any damage). The fit itself is excellent and while I am not rich enough to do a proper drop test, this is most certainly going to save your MacBook surface / edges from getting dented if you drop it by mistake by absorbing the shock. That said, if you do drop your MacBook Pro such that its hinges get stressed, this cover may not save those hinges but it is still better to have this protection on than not.

Cons:

1) Just a quick fix that was omitted from the instructions: THE TOP PART HAS TWO "LIPS" AND THEY GO ON THE EDGE WHERE THE CAMERA IS. NOT THE EDGE NEAR THE HINGES. The instructions do not say this so please make sure you put it on correctly.

I just purchased a new MacBook Air 13in and wanted a case for it so I bought this and made sure all the model numbers matched (A2179). Well the case is WAY too big. Apparently even though the MacBook says it's 13in it's actually only 12 inches across. It's 13 In if you measure diagonal. SO if you have a new MacBook Air 13 in (2020)... just know this is going to be too big for it. And if anyone can point me in the direction of a case that WILL fit this model, please do.

I don't normally write reviews, but I wanted to contribute meaningfully to this conversation about the fit of this case for the various models of the Macbook Air.

I searched Amazon for over an hour trying to identify a case that would reliably fit my new Macbook Air model A2337, and nearly every product had comments about cases not actually fitting the models they were advertised to fit.

For those who find themselves in the same situation, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed by this product. Perfect fit, not at all too smudgy, and doesn't hinder the screen's full range of motion. I was hesitant about the clear design but have actually really come around to it. Way better than getting a different color or model and then needing to return it for lack of fit.

I felt compelled to leave a glowing review for this product because, after trying and returning 6 cases from 3 different brands (all claiming they fit my MBA 2020), I finally found the one manufacturer that isn't lying when they say its case was MADE for this iteration of the laptop.

After install, I can say that all four edges are safely covered and all 4 "snaps" are in, so believe me when I say that this is a one in a million (or a least a hundred) product. The case itself is sturdy, sheer and tough, and a piece of cake to install. It comes wrapped in easy-to-remove coverings and looks durable out of the box. It even lets me open the MBA more than 90º, something the other cases didn't let me do.

Buy this, you won't regret it.

Total junk. It does not fit the 2020 macbook air properly, nor does it seem to be particularly durable.

Because the poor fit, the natural tension of the case caused cracks and chips on nearly every corner of the cases top shell within hours of installing it. Additionally, the bottom shell in particular is clearly too thin for the computer case and is very difficult to snap into place. Even worse, once it is on it is constantly popping off because if the poor fit.

I would also add I do not transport this computer, yet the case has cracks and chips just from the pressure it puts on itself. For reference I had a Spigen clear Shell for almost 8 years on my last macbook and only showed nominal signs of wear after retiring that computer this year.

I would wait for a better case from a more reputable manufacturer.

The product description and at least one of the reviews say this cover allows the laptop to open to its full extent.
Not true.
Attached photos show the full angle with no cover on, and the restricted angle you get once the cover is clipped on top and bottom.

After purchasing and returning similar cases, this is the only one that fits my new MacBook Air. Only drawback is that it restricts opening the laptop to a little more than 90 degrees. Other than that, perfection.

I liked the price point and the product is durable and sheer. The difficulty was the installation. I felt like I wasn't sure about the top and how it was supposed to be installed without scratching it. I figured it out but I wish you came with better instructions. Overall I'm very very happy with the durability of the product and I especially like the rubber on the bottom half that doesn't allow the laptop to slide when I'm on a table top.

Esta es la única funda que encontré que se abre a más de 90 grados, que realmente es un plus para esta compu. Está ligera y acentúa el color de la mac, no la opaca. Lo mejor son las ventilas de abajo, que no sofocarán a los ventiladores. Súper recomendada :)

I love the case. I never had a Mac before so the case adds weight to it and makes it more durable. Also I do not have to put a bag case over it. I just put my laptop alone in my bag now so it helps save room. Also it is good quality so far and it is crystal clear and shiny. It allows my decal stickers to be displayed and I am looking forward to getting more stickers. Nothing on it has broken so far. I had it for a couple weeks.

Para el modelo A1932 el tamaño es perfecto. Me gusta la textura del plástico porque no es completamente rígido. El color transparente es ideal para dejar ver el color original de la computadora. Me gustó mucho.

Aunque todavía falta ver la resistencia y el desgaste que tenga con el uso, por ahora me parece adecuada la calidad en relación a su precio.

I bought the cover for my 2020 Macbook Air. The product itself looks nice but it did not fit onto the laptop easily and it got cracked in several places without any force that should've caused it. The fit is poor and so is the quality. I tried contacting their number for a replacement but no one answered. I would avoid buying from this company again.
